From what i remember when I was shoppin' for a benz before... the c-class W202 sold with pleather seats... they called it "mb-text"... it definitely looked like leather... but wasn't plush like it... this was only for the base model i think... the C220... but later one the C230K and the C280 came standard with real leather... the new cars have really made an improvement though if they had pleather... can't tell anymore.... and katzkin as far as the vinyl go.... you can't tell that it is vinyl... because the parts that are vinyl are the side of the seats where you don't look at but the parts that you sit on and your head rests... are all leather.... but of course like mentioned above.... you can pay about $75-100 more for ALL leather.....

I have been talking to the Katzkins guys www.autoleathers.com about getting a GB together. I know that I would have to clear it with the higher ups here at CL, but I would like to get an idea of how many would be interested. FYI, pricing would look something like this.

2- row vehicles (includes front and rear seats)
Number of Interiors
1 --> 2 Reg Price
3 --> 4 $654 free embroidery
5 --> 6 $604 free embroidery
7 --> 9 $604 free embroidery free installation kit
10 + $579 free shipping +free embroidery+free installation kit

If we got 10 ppl, then it would be about $285 off with all the freebies.

i'm thinking either a L logo or SOARER

I'm planning to go with the 2 tone as well. Sandstone matches the stock color and I am awaiting color swatches to pick the contrasting color to match the dash.

I'd love to be a part of the GB if it happens. I don't care about embroidery, though. Just want that factory look.

Well, my group buy has been shot down by the CL staff. So much for trying to help out the community.
Anyone serious can contact me off the board.

I didn't start a group buy. I was just gauging interest before going through the trouble of coordinating something (which I've been informed that I can't do that either). So, no dice...mainly because I don't believe that autoleathers is an APPROVED vendor.

I think they did a GB on these in the past. Don't take it personally man. Take your time and work it out with the admins. Otherwise you tried and we all definitely appreciate it.

Gathering interest sets expectations that there will be a group buy and that it is approved and condoned.

I want everyone who reads this to understand that the group buy rules are for the protection of our members. In the past we had incidents where the person arranging the group buy dropped the ball with the vendor, were in it for their own self interest (or actually secretly were the vendor rep), and once there was an issue where they took off with other members' money. Not good.

The rules in place for ClubLexus avoid those issues and use our established vendor storefronts for group buys (handling the $$ transaction and negotiating with the manufacturer).

YO SCLEX, since we're in Dallas we should really go through Todd for Katzkin anyway. He's from here and sponsored by them.
