installed Katzkin's Leather interior... LOOKS GREAT!
spending too much time on my car i think... but... decided since i was sending out my cluster to audiogodz... might as well do the interior as well...
so far finished the back seats.... didn't order the optional installation kit (rip off)... go to jcwhitney.com and order hogrings and pliers from there... 401piece kit... (that might be expensive too, but i don't know where else)...
seats cost me around $750 after taxes... comes with seat covers and center console cover...
autoleathers.com (call the 1800 number and ask for samples...)
installation of leather is as hard as removing the old leather... not too hard but tedious and my damn hand is sore!!! anyone could do it... the key is to have patience...
leather is very soft and thick. be aware though... you're not getting all leather... for the back seats only the center section inserts are leather.... the rest is vinyl... vinyl is damn good quality though and you can't tell... unless you look closely... the front seats are all leather except the parts underneath that you can't see...
if you have the money... DO IT!!!
here's a good preview...

ohh how I wanted my katzkin interior, but it was too much for a bday present. Gonna have to wait a lil longer. Oh well, I am quite happy w/ my new JIC SF-1 purchase I made today
Leather looks amazing poorguy (or should we call u "poor"guy) I was thinking about going w/ teh two-tone color scheme...mabye have the stock gray on the side bolsters, etc, but having the middle sections be a darker gray that would match the dash, etc. I have the big sample book, and gawd, when I opened it up, I wanted the interior even more. Man, to have the smell of new leather....CONGRATS to you poorguy.

If you dont mind me asking, how much was the leather all together? And how does the quality compare to leatherseats.com , or if anyone knows the answer to these questions, that'd be great!

paid around $750 for shipping and all that stuff up there. i gotta say the the interior is very well done. it is just as good if not better than factory. i say this because the leather comes with extra padding behind the leather which makes it extra comfy and soft. I could compare the leather to a brand new acura integra leather but not as plush as an acura TL. I wouldn't be able to compare it to the lexus because I bought my car used with crappy leather. as far as comparison to leatherseats.com, i've heard that they are just as good. they also use a vinyl/leather combo but i'm not sure if katzkin uses more leather in the places that matter.... they also make it so that the average joe won't have a hard time installing it... hope that helps. =)

As far as I know, you can get full leather, but pay more for it. I don't know if you know this, but manufacturers (including lexus, BMW, Mercedes, etc...) routinely use vinyl in seat inserts in either high-wear areas or in areas that are not used often (rear side bolsters).
