What color was the oil?

If it was red, that's probably the boot for the steering rack

If it was yellow/brown, then one of your shocks is probably blown and that's part of the bumpstop and dust boot.

are you positive it was oil and not maybe condensation from running the ac? I bring this up because it was warm in Cali this weekend so maybe you were running the ac.
