How fast have you gone in your SC
#16
my friends are in love with my car and they gave me $5 to take them on the highway and floor it...so i did and i hit 130-something before i had to slow down because there was alot of traffic...the car was so smooth at top speeds it seemed like you were going 60mph...it had alot more power left at 130....

164.4 MPH @ 6,691 RPM
Need proof ?

Check that out to see my datalog... we also calculated that since my rev limiter is at 8,000 RPM ... if we had the ***** to try it and enough boost and time to get us there, 196.56 MPH is where we would be at when hitting the rev limiter ... and if that weren't enough for ya ... then we would just raise the limiter
Just for the record, I will NEVER go 160+ again. It was fun, but not worth it for a 2nd time.

Nearly Crapped my pants at 125
125, but does it count that it was on an old rural highway that hasn't been resurfaced in 15 years? My brother and I were air-born at 90 over train tracks that appeared flat... we are lucky to be alive. Does anyone know what region of the brain produces what my brother and I call the "ear to ear smear"? You know it is that tenative smile you cannot keep from spreading accross your face that occurs between 80 and 110 miles and hour (depending on the person)?

As far as forward speeds, I've hit 135 twice in my Formula Firebird, 140 on my GSXR750, but only about 100 so far in the SC400. At the moment, my license is suspended (as a result of attempting to pilot the Firebird upside-down), so I'm trying to avoid attention grabbing behaviors...

I hit an even 150 in my 95 Z28 automatic a few years back. I was going for the speed-limiter but then I had to catch my exit and soon realized that it's more difficult to brake for an exit at 150. My wheels were black from brake dust. Those cars have good bite for the buck, but they're built like poop.
I had my Camry V6 up to 135, I was impressed.
My turning point in top speed runs came when I was driving my 450 hp 95 Z28 (a different one from above) at 130 and had to brake/change lanes suddenly. I had 3 other people in the car that asked to experience those kinds of speed. We did several donuts and wound up in the other lane, all over a bridge. LUCKILY, everyone was ok, even the car was okay, despite a header leak or two. Apparantly a truck driver radioed in our little "wipe-out". So the cops came and found us all hiding behind a motel sign while the car was temporarily out of service in the middle of the road. My friend tried to explain that it wasn't us, but the tire marks leading up to the car and our given "hiding" situation gave us away. He simply made us tow it back to the hotel where we were staying, which was 50 yards away. we all laughed about it that night but we later revealed our true feelings of the situation. It was an act of awesome stupidity and we were lucky to be alive. Be careful guys.
My Lex? Only 105.
I've been pulled over and sent to jail too many times. That stuff gets expensive.

That's exactly right. It takes some longer than others to realize that. My friend just got his 27th ticket, ridiculous. . . I can understand the temptation to get fast just as much as the next guy. JUST BE CAREFUL. Make sure your car is in shape to do those speeds, and be cautious.
