Default Not Recommanded

To be honest, it would be a few months anyways if it were to even happen, so no point discussing it now.

Design this kind of doors is not a bad idea for racers but not recommanded at all for everyday driving. If you get hit by the door, your life is ended.

There was a write-up about that drift Soarer in an Australian Import magazine, and apparently the company that made the doors can do them for AUD$2000 each (the company is in Japan of course), so i imagine that you could get them shipped etc for around US$3000... Cant remember what the name of the company was though...

Was that a recent magazine or some old one I won't be able to find now?

I know they were on the T & E car, but are we sure they actually are the company that made them?

If so, does anyone have contact info for T & E... I will have my old high school japanese teacher translate for me

So, I think the CF doors are a bit silly (both looking and practically), but that front aero kit is niiiice. I love that little arc up from the front air dam to the wheels. It's probably the first tasteful body on an SC that I've seen. Anyone know what it is?

PS. I'll feel like a dork if that's a late model stock front end...

It's the T&E front bumper, with canards moulded into the 'glass Aaron.

Here's the T&E kit. I actually think the base kit is kinda so-so, but the red car's front is great...

uh.....no offense taken.....it's not mine.

They only have that one front end. They added the 'wing thinggies' (canards)to the front of it

This is mine:

Heh, I actually had to look up "canards" on the web to figure out what they were. It seems like they "filled in" the space between the lower spoiler and the bumper when they molded in the canards. Granted the picture is a bit blurry, but it doesn't have that "out-in-out" look, though it might just be an optical illusion.

Okay, I'll stop hijacking this thread now...

Default hey emerald

i would just like to say i like your car, and also where did you get your hood and trunk lid.

carbon fiber doors like everything else has it's up's and down's, for example driving could kill you if you get hit by a truck, or train, "WITH THE HEAVY *** DOORS "still on, on the other hand you will not get hit,
but i see where you guys are comming from.
aside fron all the glits and glamour of street racing it is actually more dangerous than circut racing or going to a drag strip, think about it , really, how many times has that old man/woman in a crown vic , a buick, or some huge car that they cannot control cut you off or suddenly stop, "on a green light", how many police officers hit innocent motorest, and tha mack daddy of them all, some idiot tries to make a yellow light run into the intersection and hit someone, i think you get the picture, now how many things go wrong on a track....................big deal you miss judged a corner and spin out
my point is i love my car but i would like to live if i get in an accedent and i know what your thinking i never hit anything except for that guy who cut me off and it was his fault. look i'm 24 in november 2003, and since i steped into a car i never hit anything, but a guy hit me when i was stoped at a red light because he was'nt looking where he was going, was it my fault? NO, but it happend.
I'm not going to sit here and act like i don't want a pair of those doors because i do, but it's my decision, and i have to suffer the conciquences(and just so you people know, if you do get in an accident depending on the state, these doors could land you in a pool of trouble)
simply put weekend driver you can take a chance but be carfull
daily driver, if or when you get hit, and you get out of jail tell us all how it was
race only you should'nt be reading this thats a given.
my sc300 is daily drivin now but after all my plans it going to be a weekend thing and drag strip or circuit.
so weigh your options and figure out which is best for you , and be safe you cant race or have tha baddest sc if your dead, i mean how fast can you really go on the street, think about that..................

Talking Word of the Day

Okay, I wasn't gonna spew all over this thread anymore, but this just landed in my inbox today...

Word of the Day for Wednesday September 17, 2003

canard \kuh-NAHRD\, noun:

1. An unfounded, false, or fabricated report or story.
2. A horizontal control and stabilizing surface mounted
forward of the main wing of an aircraft.
3. An aircraft whose horizontal stabilizer is mounted forward
of the main wing.

This is just a canard that is assumed to be true because it
has been repeated so often.
--Bruce Bartlett, "Lower Taxes, Higher Revenue?"
[1]National Review, March 13, 2003

Loath as I am to resurrect the old canard accusing writers
or critics who dislike a popular work of art of being
jealous, in Byatt's case, it might be true.
--Charles Taylor, quoted in "Rowling books 'for people with
stunted imaginations,'" by Rebecca Allison, [2]The
Guardian, July 11, 2003

Several students say they still believe the canard that no
Americans died in Bali -- in fact, six did.
--Phil Zabriskie, "Did You Hear...?" [3]Time Asia, February
2003

Whether this was true (which seems improbable) or was one
of Lawrence's numerous canards (which seems very possible),
it appears that Father did intend to strike camp at some
time.
--Douglas Botting, [4]Gerald Durrell: The Authorized
Biography
_________________________________________________________

In French canard means "duck" or "false news; hoax." The
latter sense of the word probably comes from the phrase vendre
un canard à moitié, "to half-sell a duck" -- which is to say,
not to sell it at all, hence "to take in, to make a fool of."
