Carbon Fiber no longer a dream
I spoke with a guy at www.importfan.com today and the CF hoods they have advertised will be available in 2 weeks. The do have the trunks in stock now. The hoods look pretty good from the pics.
No more failed group buys or custom jobs. Just thought I'd pass the info along. Wasn't sure if anyone was aware.

a bit pricy but gotta pay to play right? since they seem to be the only ones with them.
I'm waiting for the hood to be ready so i can order both of them to save on shipping....
did you mention how much weight savings over stock hood? and trunk?
doH! didn't see it till now.... I can't order these.. pre-drilled... gotta wait for the newer ones without the hole....

I agree with you on the price. It's still lower than most of the GB prices that never happened.

I may be wrong, but I'm thinking a bunch of aftermarket parts are being made for sc because of that red sc that drifts around on the track. So I'm thinkin we should thank the guy with the red sc.

the overall fit is pretty good although there was a slight bit of a larger gap on the left side. but it seemed like there was enough room for adjustment to lessen the space. installation is very simple too. just 4 bolts. the cf trunk is MUCH, MUCH lighter than the stock trunk with spoiler. I replaced both trunk struts in my sc because the trunk would not stay open with my stock spoiler, but the cf trunk would fly open with the aftermarket struts when i popped the trunk release. it would probably be better to use some worn out struts if you plan on purchasing this cf trunk.
i would recommend this trunk if anyone is interested. seems to be a good quality real carbon fiber part. i was told that the carbon fiber hood should be available soon...i'm assuming that they're already being made.
