well since throwing on carbon fiber doors would lighten the car by like 200lbs almost... i can see quite a big benefit there

Hey Guys,

I'll be going in on Monday to have these bad boys installed on the black TT. I'll post pictures and try the water test to it to let you all know Monday.

Anything else you would want pictures of?

Tony

I'm down for the hood when they are ready. This is some of the best news I've seen in a while.

Carbon fiber is paintable, however if you are buying it for this purpose you will be better of buying Fiberglass as it's easier to prep (no weave), and will be cheaper because most of the cost in CF is ghetting the weave to go to the right way and other molding techniques. The weight won't be that much different between the 2 from what I have seen on other cars.

Howie: do you have any estimates on the weight savings for this trunk lid?

I called ImportFan last week about the hood and about setting up a wholesale account with them... I figured I could save us all a few dollars on these things since I have th means to do so... WELL the guy at importfan was a serious ******* to me... From start to finish *******.... I tried to ask him a few questions like "does it require hood pins" are the latches reinforced " does it use the safety latch? simple questions anyone selling this product and especially someone making this thing should know.... Now keep in mind this whole conversation went on 2 minutes then he said out ofthe blue "Look buddy I have never took a car like this out and driven the **** out of it to see if the damn thing will fly up if thats what you want to know".... I mean not joking around serious ******* tone in his voice.. Then said NOW DO YOU NEED TO KNOW ANYTHING ELSE... I said no sir but you wont be getting a fax from me about tha account and he hung up.... So far as I am concerned they can stick ALLLLLLL there carbon fiber stuff up there ............Well you get the point..... Just wanted to vent about them....Sorry about the spelling I am tired...

Screw him. ask for a manager, tell him that the guy was an ******* and ask him to transfer you to someone who knows something.

No I talked to a guy named Tommy .I was sent to when I asked about a wholesale account... I have NEVER been treated like that by a "company"... Usually when I say "wholesale account" everyone gets pretty nice and helpful but that was not the case at all.... I was thinking about a 10k or so upfront and a long back end... But if he didn't want my money then guess what someone does. There is way to many companies out there to be this way. Sema is coming up and I bet I will have some great people this year to work with not ones that act this way. If you can't see it I am actually a little upset about this because they have stuff for my car I want not just for the business..... But as my mom says thats the way the cookie crumbles...................................................
