Usually replacing the large capacitor fixes the problem, try and find a shop that does electronic repairs (or do it yourself if possible).

^^ As LeX2K suggests above, go for capacitor replacement repair of the relay.

Although I STRONGLY advise you to avoid Relentless for this repair to your relay. Use another service for this.

Replacing capacitors with the same brand name and electrical value parts (which can be ordered from Digi-Key or Mouser Electronics) is not that difficult for anyone familiar with circuit board repair work.

If doing it yourself, use an Electrostatic Discharge Safe (ESD Safe) soldering iron. Better to use one that is temperature controlled like a Hakko FX-888D. And wear a respirator filtration mask (like a 3M dual-filter model) of course so as to avoid breathing soldering fumes directly. And use an electrostatic wristband with alligator clip wire affixed to metal. And decent quality solder. Solder flux you can order from Radio Shack's online store.

To remove the old solder joints cleanly you can use a cheap Velleman VTDESOL3U pump-action desoldering tool and some copper wick wire.

In most cases this repair to a worn 1992-1994 SC300/400 or early Soarer relay will restore its function.

We have a large thread dedicated to the understanding of and repair and replacement of these 1992-1994 SC flasher relays whcih goes into greater detail and how to remove the outer casing:

Last I checked yes. I ordered some RC branded flux from them not long ago. But as an online-only storefront. I've heard of a couple brick and mortar Radio Shack stores still hanging on but I think those are anomalies and possibly not official... kind of like how one Blockbuster Video store is *still* around but 100% privately operated and stocked. But in this case it's the actual Radio Shack... just reduced to online-only sales after that cellphone company (Sprint??) took over their physical stores a few years ago.
