Default rocker panels for 92 sc4????PLZ Help

i came back from the dealer after he gave me an stimate... for this little accident (towards the end of the page)
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=94896
he told me i don't have the rocker panels.... I'm like should I? and he said yeah..... my driver's side is exactly like my passenger's side except my passengers has those scrapes and that dent. I borrowed MARIAS picture from the gallery so i can illustrate it ( i hope i'm allowed to do that). Anyways he said it'll be 1000 or roughly 750 USD to replace it the thing is (from my understanding) there will be rocker panels there when he does.
That will mean that my driver's side will not have those "rocker panels" since they are already the same.....

My question is.... What the?????????? What did he mean by rocker panels from my understanding rocker panels are side skirts......... PLZ explain it to me someone and maybe with a pic and sorry for being a mechanic's school reject.

sand it, and put some primer to protect the exposed metal.

they told me they can patch it up but he said it will come back and from what I noticed, it was not smooth but alittle bubbly which meant something had happened some time ago before tand hat's why he said that.
The primer they use is Bondo or something like that which bubbles up after a year.... I know that cause they used it before on the car and that was the result.

Also patching it up he said would cost 200 less or about 150 USD less. My main concern is what he said with the rocker panels. Are those skirts or what?

k called them back and asked them about rocker panels..... he said he wasn't going to put them on cause they would cost 1000 or 750 USD each and i told him i could probably get it for less from a 97~ he said they wouldn't fit..... Anyways according to his computer when he punched in 92 it showed him that it did come with rocker panels so did they exist at some point????

Most of the dealers out there will tell you that the 92-96 does not have any rocker panels. Just buy it anyways and have them install it for you or you can do it yourself.

I have a 92 SC400 and I installed the 2000 factory rocker panels and they fit perfectly!

Here's a pic of it installed on my car...

I also thought from this forum and from what I see on the streets that they didn't exist on the 92-97... but he said they did and he said the newer ones wouldn't fit..... Ah well after closer inspection I saw that there's car cancer forming on a few parts so I have to take care of that before any body mods. what a bummer

ACleanSC your car really looks clean... I like it alot. I wish mine didn't have cancer.

Out of curiosity how do you put the skirts on? I know there are clips that you buy but how would you actually do it ? Are there drilled holes or something already in that part under the front fender and under the door?

I used the existing little screws to go inside door sill area and I picked up some other screws at a parts store (forget what size) to screw from the bottom of the skirt up into the car.
