SC400 the "Grand Tourer"
I've owned my SC 400 for decades, I've never heard it called a grand tourer, even here at Club Lexus. It's probably my fault because wiki starts out w the SC400, is a grand tourer! Now I'm posting this because I haven't been comfortable w the label "sport" coupe or as most lay folk think Sports Car. To me sport more or less means lightweight, fast, racer. Now the SC is anything but light weight.
The definition of grand tourer is: designed for High speeds and long distances. Now thats exactly what the Bullet is and what I do w it. Take long trips to Denver from SanFrancisco, North to Mt Rushmore from SF, south to Albuquerque from Cal. And many, many more and where Lexus's luxuries come in play. Although I have dumped the heavy stock seats for lite weight Corbeau's, which have paid for themselves a long time ago
One of the reasons I consider the SC to be one of the greatest grand tourers besides the bullet proof V8 which comes w a160 mph speedo is what I call its "needle nose" and marvelously rounded smooth front end, no edges at all. An extremely low profile which just slices thru the air, as opposed to the modern bulky front ends which have to push the air aside. At 80, 90 mph becomes a heavy task. On my trips I'm up there in those speeds for hours and hours. The Bullet has never missed a beat or left me stranded.
All I'm saying is I'm finally happy calling the Bullet A GT____Grand Tourer
Barbary and the Bullet

Awsome observations, like poetry haha. I always thought the sc is like a bullet or rocket especially from the side view. It wants to go fast 85 feels like 65,would love the chance to bring mine to the autobahn one day.
