i was curious as i saw these things on a few ebay auctions - these strips that run down the side of the doors (and extend a little bit past on each end to the other body panels) that are body colored. probably about 3/4 inch wide and they run down the middle of each door. were these a factory option or something people bought aftermarket? i searched and i couldn't seem to find anything at all, even though i recall a thread mentioned it on here a long while back.

They were pieces you could order right from the dealer. They were a good idea, but after getting a good look at them, they ruined the lines of the car, or lack thereof. Maybe would look best on black since they would be less noticeable.

any idea where i could find some? im interested in seeing how they look again, i never really paid much attention but since parking has gotten more scarce at my college im looking into some way to prevent door dings and such without getting removable strips or big black fugly patches.
