Default 93 windshield replacement help!!!

What's up everyone,
I am in the process of having my windshield replaced and very adamant about getting an OEM replacement. I have ran into a little bit of an issue as part# 56111-24131 has been discontinued. After doing some research I have found that glass for the 97+ is still available part# 56111-24150. So my question is are these compatible? Can I get the newer glass for my 93 or will it not work? Only difference I could find was color, 93 was grey and 97+ was green.

93-96 Windshield part# 56111-24131
97+ windshield part# 56111-24150

From what I've searched they seem to be different, you will have to get an aftermarket like PPG or from a junk yard used? Seems like that would be my go to considering how many junked 93-96 SC's i've seen in junk yards with windshields still.

For what it's worth, the aftermarket (I think PPG) replacement in my '92 is just fine. Not sure about newer years going into older, but I'd rather have a nice clear aftermarket than try and search and pull a used one out of a junkyard that you've got a 50/50 shot at breaking once you do manage to find one.

PPG makes excellent glass if it's available for your car jump on it, even buy an extra while you can.

I also have PPG windshield glass in my SC, though I had it installed in 2012 or so. Excellent quality.

I appreciate the replies. After more research it appears PPG is no longer a company however it lead me to another company PWG and they only sell commercially. So I'm in a tight spot here trying to figure out best solution, I will keep everyone updated. Wish I knew what changed with the 97+ model as there is only one left in the US.

If they only sell commercially, that means you need to contact a windshield glass company who does installs and have them order it for you.

That's exactly what I did and now I am getting a PGW windshield. I had the company I'm working with call and take care of it.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I will report back on quality once install is done.
