I just ordered some 18 x 8.5 Front 18 x 9.5 Rear. What offset do you have ? Because I was planning on 275/35/18 rear and 245/40/18 front.

hey angel why don't you try going wider? Your car is gonna need all the traction it can get =). 275 really isn't that wide. I have 275's on my 19s and they look pretty thin if you ask me. Try going 285 or 295. Ya might have to roll ya fenders though. Wider tires look so much better and u have a reason so go wide so why not?

rubbing is more of an issue with width and offset than diameter.

I told the shop I ordered them from that the wheels were going on a Supra TT. He told me they would have to be 8.5 up front to clear those stoppers. So I figured he new what was up. I believe the offset is just fine. The rear meats only rub during more "spirited" driving. Perhaps the offset is off - but I would have to measure it because, off hand - I don't know what the exact offset is. Either the previous owner lowered the car (the suspension is stock) or the suspension is tired out is all I figure.

I am going from 225s to 275s! I think that is enough of a jump for me right now Plus, I like to get what is recommended for the wheel size, and 275/35 seems to be the way to go.

yea 35 is good. just get 40 in the front unless you want that aggressive look. With 30's i'm really scared of the potholes here in nyc cause it's so thin.

Hi guys,

I hardly ever reply or post but i read alot about what you guys post. I totally agree with most of what you guys think. It seems like most of us SC owners think alike when it comes to our cars.

This I had to reply. I too am lookin for a set of 18s. Stagger setup.
I ride on 19s now and let me tell ya, it looks good but damn i throw up every time I think about the price of tires. thats like twice in a year and a half. My cost for 4 toyos 245/35/19 are about 700.

price of 19s tires are more than 20s and you dont get that many choices.
18s are good for daily driver, looks good, easy to manage.
19s wellllll might as well buy 20s
20s depends on your taste and budget. if you can afford it. more power to you but damn stay away from crappy wheels. just because they are 20s doent mean they are worth anything.

Just my opinion, and pm me if you guys have 18s you wanna sell, I ll take any wheels into consideration.

I would post my pic if I know how.

After all this I decided to get some (new, don't trust used rims) silver 18" rage 5.0 wheels to hold me off until next year (spring '04) when i get the 18" chrome wheels that I want. I couldn't pass the deal up getting them at 1/2 and all I'll post pics once I get them on.

Wouldn't you rather wait and get a quality wheel? I'd like to try to talk you out of those Rage wheels...

I'm curious what differentiates a quality wheel from a not quality wheel. Is it price, opinion, or build? It seems to be price on this forum.
