kaotiq, that would depend on the rim your getting, the width, size and offset. Some rims are made to have a deeper lip than others. I've seen supra rims with 6-8 inch lips and that's because they have like 11-13 inch rims (in width).

I have 18" rim on my baby, it looks great and rides O.K. but I did had to play with the air presures to get
a comfortably ride.

Got my HREs this week but I don't have my SC300 back yet.

Specs:

HRE 540R all polished
19x9.5 fronts (275/30R19 PZero Rosso Assymetrico)
19x11 rears (295/30R19 PZero Rosso Assymetrico)

I believe this may be the widest HRE front/rear SC300 application to date.

These rims are huge. I thought they gave me 20s by mistake on first glance. I amost want to keep them on display they look so nice.

For 19's, you can go with a more aggressive offset then +41 front (on a 8.5" wheel). +41 is good for 20's wheels on the SC...for the rear, w/o mods, 20x10 +48 to +50 works good. Now if you want to work on the fenders, you can get some more agressive offsets.

The SC has very shallow front fenders so if you dump your car a lot, you'll need to do some serious inner fender mods (with 20's due to the overall diameter of the wheels)

As for lip, that really does depend on the design of the wheel. The good thing about the SC's rear brake setup is that the caliper is actually lower than the mounting pad surface which allows you do really do a super low disk setup. I had a 3.35" (if I remember correctly) lip on my 20x10 setup on my SC. For the front, a 1.5" lip or so max w/o doing some mods (and this is with big brake clearance of course)...

A lot of the Japanese guys mod their fenders to get the lip...but the front end on the SC isn't the most "big lip" friendly setup there is due the way the brake system is setup (common on the GS also)

And along the lines of Hermosa's comments, it's not wise to have stock brakes after you get some new wheels. The stock SC brakes are kinda weak anyhow so I would spend money on upgrading the brake system.

Speak of which, Hermosa, what offsets did you run on your setup and what kind of fender mods are you doing?

Hey Manaray,
You know a lot about our cars. I can forget about your dislike of chrome. Anyone with your knowledge is allowed to be opinionated. Can I send you questions when I have them? I want to start doing more things myself. I have been spending too much at the dealership repair shop.
