Is the SC close to becoming rare?

Yeah, I would say the five speeds are pretty rare. It took me almost 8 months to find mine. In comparison to some people I've talked to though I guess it's not that long.

Question unanswered: What are the real, certified, actual, not a guess (how else can I say this?) number of SC300 5-speeds that where produced? (By year would be a bonus!)
Please no "I think", "I heard", "I guess". Been there, heard that.
Can someone give us the stats on 5 speeds with the sourse??

Were not even close to rare....when you can do searches on ebay and autotrader.com and come up with a total of 10 or 15 searches then we will be rare...as for now its always 50 to 60 sc's on ebay..and over 500 on autotrader.com..haha..good luck...like someone else said 5 speeds are the rearest....
I think 98+ SCs are rare, you NEVER see them riding around, mostly 92-94, and then 95-96!

True that, I searched for well over a year to find the '99-00 I wanted, and had to go a few states over to get it. Anyone have any solid production figures for the '98-00?

Im starting to feel like I got a hell of a deal!
So, SC300 5spd is rare. Black interior is even more rare. '95-'96 is rare too......
Well, that means Ive got one hard to find car!
I paid $7300 for a silver/black interior '95 SC300 5spd with 142,000 in excellent condition. Id been looking for months for this exact car and was about to fly to South Carolina to check out a white one (had given up on silver). I got online to buy the plane ticket and ran my usual auto trader search one last time, and saw something that was absolutely amazing........there was a car matching EXACTLY what I wanted not more than 3 miles away from where I was working in Dallas!!
On top of it being just bizarre amazing luck, I think I got a good deal because they neglected to tell me that something was wrong with the harmonic balance bolt so the timing belt was never changed on a car with 142k (everything else was perfectly maintained which was a little fishy). Took it to a friend in Dallas and he couldnt budge it with a 1000ft/lb impact wrench and stacking batteries while starting the car with the bolt locked. Thought I get screwed and was about to sell the car, but a 5 foot long breaker bar saved the day!
Just a little bedtime story for ya.

It's extra weight. Also it's the highest point on the car, which means higher center of gravity. And the rubber trim outside causes some wind noise.
And moonroof lowers the chassis stiffness a bit.
