Default Metal Carpet Rivet

I don't know if anyone else has this same problem but the metal rivet that is in the carpet (driver and passenger side) that is attached via a plastic piece to the mat is gone so that plastic piece will not stay in the carpet. Does anyone know what this piece is called or where I can get a couple of these? Lexus says the only way is to purchase new carpet. I don't think so!

i wouldn't see that as much of a problem, why not just let the carpet lay there?

You can buy part number 00208-00801 "Retention Clip" (pack of 2 for $5).

Then you can drill a hole in the end without the hook and run a bolt through it. Then thread it through one of those spring-loaded "expansion" nuts (the kind they use for drywall) and run it into the carpet hole.

Once it expands, you tighten the bolt and that clip will stay there a long time.
