Thumbs up

Nice job. Let's hope this starts people to start pushing on the SC400 tuning.

Now add some of Tex's headers and you can get another 15 rwhp and rwtq.

Out of curiosity why did you need the better pump? Are you going forced induction?

Nothing much probably.. Never worked with the version2 I have the bluescreen S-AFC. The afc will smooth the A/F graph so I don't see you gaining much of anything with the Gen2.

D. I've been hella bizzy lately,... but will be givin' you a shout in the near future on your mods...

with enhance computer and VVTI I think it will squeeze less out of the AFC than the OBI SC's... but that's just a guess.. drop me a line anytime.

Got the better pump to get rid of that annoying 120MPH+ fuel cut off. I don't want to spend 700+ on tex's headders and 900+ to modify and install those headders. I will hold out for US spec headders to come out.

I do plan on going forced induction when the right product at the right price is introduced.

hey, for that much torque increase, i wanna run down to my local tuner and pickup a S-AFC right away for under 300. Could you please share your setting with us, i can't afford any dyno time, and i think i can install the S-AFC myself. I know every car is a little different, but should be pretty close. Thanks in advance! WOO-HOO!

Without the SAFC in my car it was putting 230 rwhp.
After tuning it wet up to 250rwhp

Without tuning the APEXI Power FC on my rx7 it was at 260 rwhp (same as the ole computer it had b4)
After tuning...

330rwhp 11.7 A/F ratio average

Gotta love turbos....

thank you O.L.T.

Thread was closed while I was at work all day and just noticed it was re-opened when I got home
I'll post the dyno sheet tomorrow(only got scanner at work).

These are the settings for my car.
Remember... every car and I don't care if your car has the very next serial number to mine and you have exactly the same parts down to the bolt washers as my car. Don't plug these numbers in. Dyno Tuning is only $150 for S-AFC just about anywhere so get yours done by the pros.

Lo-throttle settings
no change. 0%

Hi-Throttle settings
1000RPM = -3%
2000RPM = -4%
2500RPM = -5%
3000RPM = -6%
4000RPM = -8%
5000RPM = -9%
6000RPM = -10%
6500RPM = -9%

Throttle Point
Lo = 10%
Hi = 60%

Dec/Air
**********

A/F ratio is very close to 12.5:1 ... probably could have eeked out 1-2HP's more but wanted to stay safe.

These were the settings when it dynoed @ 207RWHP and 227RWTQ...
1000RPM = -2%
2000RPM = -3%
2500RPM = -4%
3000RPM = -5%
4000RPM = -6%
5000RPM = -7%
6000RPM = -8%
6500RPM = -6%

Throttle Point
Lo = 10%
Hi = 60%

Dec/Air

a while back I put a thread on how to install the S-AFC on a SC400. Should provide enough details and pictures for a self install. You can pick up S-AFC's these days for about 250 new ... google it!

I put my 3rd dyno run numbers and AFC settings.... if you really insist on plugging numbers similar to mine be safe and undertune it by using the 2nd set of number where I made 207RWHP... hate to see you blow anything up. you really won't know the 2-3RWHP difference.

most likely going to the track this wednesday.
I don't know how many passes I can make but we'll be able to see the difference from the average stock SC400 numbers of 15.8

D. The 97's aren't VVT,...so I'll be cool as far as the timing tryin' to undo my SAFC settings / adjustsments... I think 98 is the year the variable timing showed up,... thus the power jump to 290,.. i just have 260 and was thinkin' at the time... I'll just buy an SAFC and a few other mods to get it past the power of the 98+ models... and now with the advnet of some boost,... I'm rubbin' my hands with anticipation...

FYI - Dennis is right,... every car is different and should be tuned it's own condition to get the optimum performance gains out of it... and to be safe.... I'd spend dyno time money any day over engine repair or replacement.

Finally got my stuff working.

Ignore the green torque band. They put the wrong torque band

There is a dyno sheet where I made 231.79rwtq and 209.86rwhp but this one will do.

The green HP line with 202.87 was with catback and fuel pump only.
the blue line is with catback, fuel pump and S-AFC tuned.
once again... power all across the band.

Those of you who want this in RPM's... I don't have it. The freaks at the dyno only gives you 3 printouts but the gains were all across the RPM's as well.

that's an interesting graph.... i wonder why they didn't use the rpm vs power / tq chart?

the falloff is kinda interesting up on the top end,... it looked as if it could have still be tuned for a little bit more power. just my observation..
