Talking Finally, did the tune up it needed!

Finally I finished changing my spark plugs, dist, cap, rotor and plug wires and it only took us 8 hours!

frustations included,

Figuring how to take the TB out... never suceeded I just slided it out as much as possible, enough to give me room. Talk about user friendly.

Multiple runs to the store to get tools that I did not have. (Like metrid deep sockets.) Guessing the sizes for the bolts, kinda hard to judge when you cant see, and barely get to th em.

Peeling the end of plug wire 5 and 6.

Dealing with bald useless screws that wont budge. I broke one of them, and got pissed off and said the hell with another one, they were secondary anyways, and it was pretty much useless.

Well condition of crap I removed.

My dist cap, was in fairly good condition.
My rotor, was partially flamed out.
my plugs were charred and black, and they were NGK R looked like copper plugs.
Plug wires 3, 4, 5 and 6 was partially peeling out and pretty much done for.

I put a denso dist cap, from dealership, plug wires from dealership, rotor from dealership im assuming its denso as well. I used Denso Iridium plugs.

**** thats still needs to be done, coolant replacement. And my timing belts look rather clean. And I already did my tranny fluid and air filter.

Maybe this would help explain why my sc300 was running low 17s and trapping at 80 as it was.

I took it for a spin at 2 am, and my butt dyno gives it a .

Let it be known for future references:

http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/spa.../na/index.html

That is taken from Supra manual. Should help since it's identical.

I thought fuel filter seldom needed changing.

And ya I used the mkiv manual, just to bad it never mentioned the tools I needed. And some things it was rather ambigous.

I dont like my air filter I probably will get an aftermarket one and im wondering if I should get the supra exahust installed before the swap, or after, but thats not urgent.
