Post odometer not counting

What's crackin' y'all
I recently manual swapped my 97 SC400 with a CD009 trans. But the odometer is not working, it displays but doesn't count up. Is there a way to fix this issue?
If so, please let me know what I need to do to get it to start working again.
If theres another thread that discusses this problem, refer me to it.

Also speedometer doesn't work as well, if y'all can refer me to a thread or pm me, please let me know.

-Best regards

Hello,

What CEL codes are stored in the system?

The original transmission came with the speed sensor on its output shaft, now that it is gone, the car has no way of knowing its speed, hence no understanding of how far it went during a specific run.

With the sensor now absent from the system, you will either have to use a GPS speedometer, or find a retrofit sensor to fit the transmission you got installed in the car depending on whether it was an option, since newer cars rely on ABS system to get speed information.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

The electronic odometer in 1992-2000 SC300/400's use BOTH the transmission Vehicle Speed Sensor (which you don't have with a CD009 trans) and one of the front wheel ABS speed sensors in order to have a redundant reading of miles or kilometers accrued.

As Arsenii stated, you'll need to install a GPS-based speed sensor (easier) or a hall-effect style speed sensor on the driveshaft or at the front of the rear differential (harder). The speedometer uses ONLY the VSS signal from the transmission in the factory design. I believe Dakota Digital sells a solution that can but used to solve this.
