I agree with One Hot, it took me more close to 2 months to find a good one. The dealers have the best looking, low mileage ones. The private sellers have them cheaper but usually with higher mileage. Most have them that are cheaper have a long carfax history.
In NYC, I see maybe 1 or 2 SCs a week. To me that is rare.

You forgot one thing about Cali. CARB. Half the stuff us east coasters do to our cars is illegal in Cali. And if you do manage to do anything, you better have a Carb sticker on it.

I am selling my Black 93 SC400 that I love. It hurts me so, but I am going to be commuting to Stockton everyday and 93 Octane with a not so great gas mileage is something to think about. Everybody said it would be better to sell now, befoer the 11-year mark and before I get too many miles on it. Right now it has 121K and the outside has a few chips in front from Mr. Freeway.
I went to Carmax because of the commercials to see how much I could get for my lovely and they gave me an offer of $3,300. I asked him if he was joking because it is immaculate inside and out. The car has new AC, tires, and cluster needles. He said they don’t hold their value.
I drove 15 minutes away to CAL Wholesale and they offered my $7,600, but subtracted $600 for a break job and chip repair. We are talking more than double the offer depending on where you go. He told me to sell it in the paper for 10K because the paint is shiny and black is the color.
After Sunday if I don’t sell it in the paper I will turn in it for the 7K at Cal.
So I guess it just depends on who you ask.

it took me a good 5-6 months to find my SC, and I'm happy with it... its damn hard to find nice and clean 1st gen GSs out here... they're so rare... I saw a broken down GS yesterday and i stopped to help the guy because it was a shiny black 1st gen... i was surprised to see one in such nice condition

I got mine for 6500, in fairly good condition. It's needed a few things so far.. but i figure as long as i don't put more than 2500-3k into it i still got a good deal

1st gen Lexus and 2nd gen Legends (the only true acura that could hold it's own w/ the lexus as far as luxury) are great autos. They last forever.
