Broken into ... radio and temp control gone!
Sup gents,
You gotta love living in NYC. I parked the car outside my work building, and came out in the afternoon to find the driver's side window smashed, and my radio and temp control stolen. Unreal .. and very professional job.
Now I have a big hole in the middle of my dashboard, and it's HOT as hell ... heat coming off the engine. Does anyone know if the temp control can be replaced? The back wires have been cut ... can this be replaced? I'm not gonna worry about the radio, but I can't drive the car for too long .... it's like a furnace.
Any help would be appreciated. I'll call the Lexus dealership in the morning to see if they can do anything.

Sorry to hear that.
You may want to contact a Lexus junk yard (Tap Recycling) and see if they have parts ready for you.
I've seen more than a few SCs sitting in their junk yard and I am sure you can get parts from you for a lot less than the dealers.
Good luck,
Jon

Tap Recycling was able to get me the wires I needed for $50.00. The guy at the Lexus dealership said they were only sold as a complete harness for $1000. Tap advertises shipping anywhere. You should check them out.

Thanx guys. I appreciate the help. I was away for the holiday. Now it's time to get back to business and find a replacement for the stolen units. Lexus dealer is gonna charge me 2 grand for everything. Insane.
Thanx for the Tap Recycling site. I'll check them out.
BTW, I was parked in Woodside, Queens by the BQE. I no longer work there anymore ... thank god. The area was a nightmare and the job was a nightmare.
Thanx for everyone's help.

Sorry to hear about that, being that I'm from Queens I'm familiar with that area.
Damn, I was always under the impression that I would be safe from radio theft considering my unit was stock like yours. They must have an SC themselves or know someone who has. Why pay for stock parts when you can still them from our cars

it would have take a thief that knows the sc to get the center consel out. u have to take off hande.slide in to gear to pop off plastic cover then you have to unscrew the phillips that hold the trim down, then u would need 10mm bolts to unbolt centerconsel out,,,,,,,,mmmmm..it would have took a long time to get that radio and center consel out,,and you cant just rip the trim off because there are screws behind the ash tray..
got paid $$$$$$$?
