Question Working on my Headlights ***HEADLIGHTS DONE*** (PICS)

Well i have the ebay blacked out "halo" headlights low/high on my car, but they are hard to adjust and i dont feel like they could handle the intensity of HID's soooooo, im tearing apart my old ones. I'm going to black out the reflector, polish the lense inside and out, remove the parking lamp condom, and turn signal lense...just overall make it look better. They are going to end up looking like the ebay ones, just minus the halo and clear lense...i might put some l.e.d.'s, not sure. I do know the black headlights on a black SC look AMAZING (check out my pics).

Anywho, here is the question, i've removed the lenses from the housing using one of the tech's around heres heat gun, but im a bit puzzled on how to get all of that sealant off that held the lense on. That stuff is thick as tar, anyone with experience on DIY'ing the headlights have some tips????

Just keep heating it up so it stays soft and scrape it off

LoL, i'll definitely have to find something better to scrape it off with than my pocket knife then.

Anyone do it a different way?

I noticed that if you heat the sealant until it bubbles it cools hard and cracks off.

Just thought someone could get a giggle from this, but im working on the headlights as we speak, while i work, lol, and i happened to have found that a DA31 key blank works magic with scrapping off the sealing goop. I tried a DA34 but it was a lil to thick

You cant, i looked, the stock headlight's lense has a half inch lip where it meets the housing and the ebay lights sit flush, you could put them on but they would be angled goofy.

On butyl??, where i have to put sealant back. WD-40 works on just about anything, but im positive it wont get this stuff off, esp since it'll make it a nightmare to prep the surface to reseal.
