Re-purchasing My Old 2000 SC400
Hi Guys - 3 or 4 years ago, I sold my 2000 SC400 to a buddy of mine for his wife to drive. She's now done driving sport coupes, and he's ready to sell it back to me. It's got 68K miles now (I sold it to him with ~ 40K miles) and it's a little rough (needs new tires, some paint work, and interior issues) but still drives pretty solid.
What's a fair price at this time? I think I sold it to him for $24K, and it was flawless at the time.

With the deterioration of the car and the MASSIVE drop in prices on the SC's, you're probably just going to **** him off with an offer because it will be rather insulting considering he gave 24k two years ago.
I'd buy into a newer Lexus rather than buy back from him as cheap as you'd have to buy it back from to be in the car for the right price. He may feel he got shafted TWICE if he considers the buy back price V/S what he paid for it.
I'd skip it.

i'd say 8 to 10k depending on condition.. he probably won't like that but, once he goes and tries to sell it anyplace else he's gonna be hit with the reality of how much these cars have came down.

Selling price
Yeah, I did take it to the dealer. They said $8,000 is what they'd give, and I shouldn't pay more than $10K. Buying it back for someone in our family.

I agree, SC's just don't sell for that they used to.

Recently, I was looking around for a 2000 Sc 400, they were priced between 12k to 16k. I must mention that they were all in mint condition.
Three weeks ago, i paid 12k for a 1998 Sc 400 with 52k on the clock.
