Sc400 or 300?
Hey Everyone,
I am planning on getting a sc400 or 300. Currently my friend might sell me his sc400 for 1k and i was thinking of doing a manual conversion. would it be cheaper to just buy a sc300 manual instead??
Thanks for the help

By the time you find a 300 with a manual for a good price you still wont beat doing a manual swap on the 400. The reward is much greater than a 5sp 300 and you can do it cheaper than buying a 300 5sp. Go to my friends site www.uza70.com. They are making adapter plates for less than anything out there right now and are in the process of doing a 5sp swap on my friends 400 right now. Check it out, it would definitely be worth it.

If your friend is selling you an sc for 1k either he loves you or your getting hustled. Most of the crappy sc's with minor problems go for 2500+. If its 1k then i would be on some seriously problems i.e. engine/transmission.
With that being said if you want to swap a manual into an sc400 then odds are you are going be disappointment with how week the engine is. Of course for 1k, a jz engine swap into a sc400 would still be cheeper then buying a good sc300 5spd.

Its a sheer characteristic of these motors to grunt through there low rpms and scream in the highs, so, naturally with a manual swap you will be able to keep the motor in the high rpms and unleash its potential. WHICH IS ALOT, esp compared to the motor straining against the tall gears in that four speed dildomatic.
Weak.... nahhhh
