Help needed (What to buy 300 or 400?)
ok so I have been on the hunt for an sc300. I have been looking for about a month now and I find a couple here and the for about $3500-$4000 for a 92-95 with around 170k on odometer. However I have been finding sc400s(same years and mileage) for the same price or less. I was planning on turboing the 300 but I don't think there are any turbo kits for the 400, are there? If so great and I will pick up one of the 400s. Anyways to the point, if I can pick up a 400 cheap enough I would most likely swap in a 1jzgte. What is the general/ballpark price you guys have paid for that motor and tranny installed? Sorry for the new guy question but I don't want to jump the gun and get a 400

Well, you need much more additional things for a 1j swap into the SC4 than the SC3. If you're really intent on a 1jz, go for the SC3. Just wait to find a good one.
There are turbo SC4's all around. Search.
Installation, well, try it yourself if you can. You'll learn plus, its fun as hell.
but I've heard about 3400 installed. B/S if you ask me.

Thanks for the help guys. How about a 2jzgte into a 400? I don't have as much time to look as I would like as I am
moving in 4 months to a area where imports are hard to find Anybody have a link to a turbo sc400? I am doing all this from
my phone and searching and trying to find all that stuff is a bugger.

Correct me if im wrong, but wouldn't doing a 2jzgte swap in an sc400 be way more trouble and money instead of just waiting it out for an sc300 and boosting the 2jzge w/ a big turbo instead of settling for small twins, that way you get more power and still save alot more money.

Don't know what part of WA you in but there's a 5 spd SC300 on Craigslist. No pics though but the description says it has a 97+ conversion on it with a JIC style or majic bodykit. Red in color on S. Tacoma Way. Also check out the the Supra Store. They have a few turbo kits out there for the 300 as well.http:/seattle.craigslist.org/tac/ctd/971393223.html

Yeah it is. If I would have known that before I would've went with a 300 in the first place. Oh well I guess I'll do what the Honda boys around here do and just get another. 5sp of course so I can boost it.

300 or 400 don't matter just get that **** and it will make you happy
having a gs300 and a sc400 though and being in area with no performance shops
