Ongoing build thread for my Girl-built SC300nat!
PIC UPDATES WILL BE LISTED IN THE POST BELOW THIS ONEOk- I blew the engine in my 93 R1 RX7 and never wanted to touch it again so i bought an auto 97 SC300 because no one thinks I can blow a 2j. Well I'm giving it the old college try. Oops #1: I picked up a Turbonetics 60-1 with a log manifold (used to be part of the fmax kit). You'll see why in a sec.
Oops #2: A friend in Florida needed a log for his NA supra that he was trying to get running and was going to send me a manifold he was pretty sure would fit on my car with the 60-1. So a week later I get a box in the mail with an IS300 manifold that would've put any turbo into the shock tower. It looked like it was arc welded by a pack of monkeys! So I trashed it. I wanted the BL manifold "in case it's needed later". I thought on it for a minute, got stoked and threw down the wallet. The 60-1 just wasn't gonna work for me anymore when I knew the manifold could hold something much nastier. So back to Titan. I walked out with a Precision turbo and somehow or another a Ferrea Valvetrain ended up on my receipt - but I did get a tasty plate of teriyaki chicken wings on Nero's tab. Since I had a bigger turbo I needed a thicker headgasket and everything spun outta control from there! I packed my garage full of parts. I didn't want to lay the car up over and over- even though I did. I live in VA but used needing to get parts from Titan as an excuse to drive down and spend time with my best friends Dave and Michelle and all the other tards down there. Dave's been a godsend when it comes to this build- without his abuse and a handful of his throw-backs it would've taken me a lot longer to get this done. I'm hoping to get 700hp to the wheels off the bottle...we'll see!
Here's my parts list:
Precision pt67 DBB(with the surge)
Greddy front mount with 3 inch piping
890cc injectors- Domestic (85lb Mustang Cobra)
custom 10 an dual feed fuel rail (fabbed by my old man)
sx external fuel pump
aem fuel pressure regulator
one hell of a head port (Thanks to David Penton)
1 mil over ferrea valve train
2 milly cometic headgasket
trd differential with a 4:10 ring and pinion with Titan solid diff mounts
eibach/tt suspension
map ecu2
msd 6al
boostlogic manifold and downpipe
custom made by titan motorsports exhaust with two full-sized apexi N1 cans- no cats (it's silly but the welds on this make it my favorite part on the car)
web 264 custom grind cams (modeled after HKS, I believe)
arp head studs
spec stage 4 clutch
hks wastegate
turbonetics blow off valve
AVS 5's (old school) all around but OZ rims with 315 BFG drag radials for the track
This is the exact moment I found out the manifold was for an IS. I had just put the intercooler on.
Ganking the old head
Done
New head is on...my right arm is huge from all that torque-loosen, retorque, loosen again. Props to Abacus Racing for turning the head out in a few days and dealing with me being a diva...and thanks to Lexus for that nifty shop manual. Numbers are reversed (for anyone wanting to be a ****).
Husband painted the valve covers black
Dizzy's on and timing belts done. Kiss my butt if anyone ever thinks I'm doing that EVER again.
Test fitting the turbo... Boostlogic 1- pack of welding monkeys 0
The exhaust has been on there since I did the 5 speed swap a month or two ago. This pic does it NO justice- it is sooo hot I can't even stand it.
More pics to come! Suspension is already on and I didn't take any pics of that but I'm going to keep posting as I add more of the stuff.

Get em girl, the majority of SCs around here are driven by girls...turns out there is one in Virginia who likes taking it to the next level. Excellent mods, excellent effort, welcome to the party.

Not fun! Not fun at all!!! I have had gear oil in my hair- bruises all over my hands and my nails are crap now. It's gonna get worse...tomorrow I'm knocking out the fuel system so hopefully I can get slag burns to go with the rest (welding in the bungs).
