2JZ-GE How to adjust the timing Correctly?
does anybody know how to adjust the timing correctly on a 2jz-GE?
I hear before u put on the timing light and adjust the distributer , u must take off the daignostic cap and jump certain things. but not sure on to which i have to jump. or loop.
can anybody assist me? i need to put my car on the correct 10 degrees BTDC for optimun spark. and ignition

warm u the car to operation temperature. jump terminals Te1 ans E1 in the Diagnostics Port 1 in the engine bay. it is the small one on the engine. if you jumped the correct pins the check engine light will flash intermittently
after that just get a timing light and have fun twisting the distributor.
base timing is 10. i have been running 12* and its fine. thicker plug wires and msd coil.

Sorry to bring this back up, but I didnt pass smog because of this. my timing was off
Setup was fine. I did exactly as specified on the attached pdf.
If I remember correctly, what I did was set the timing gun at 10 and made sure that it lined up with the 10 degree marking. Is this process correct or would it yield a timing of 20? or should it be flashing at the 0 mark if the gun was at 10? If anyone could confirm, I'd appreciate it
