All of these have a delightful sight to them, its hard to decide which is better. Now I am going to have to post a picture or two of mine.

How did you overcome the shift lock release after adding the gated shifter? I have not seen a correct work around that allows you to shift back to reverse or park while stepping on the brake.

Thanks,

Ryan

Thanks! I got my shifter off another member here for around 250-280ish, installation wasn't that bad since JesLet had provided a wiring diagram to follow. If you can do simple wiring, it's easy. You'll have to cut the shift linkage 1in shorter though to have the shifter line up correctly. I've heard that if you have the sc3, you won't need to shorten the linkage, but I don't know for sure.

I didn't completely wire everything up because of the shifter locking in N with not being able to shift up to R. So I actually couldn't find the correct way to wire it. I'm figuring that I'm just not tapping the correct wire for the Speed Sensor.

My work around, was just to not tap anything for the speed sensor and the 12V. I left those 2 off and not connected to anything. Having a 12V sent to the shifter locked it so you couldn't shift back up to R, so I simply just didn't connect/tap the 12V from the Cig. lighter. Doing this allowed me to shift freely like normal without the shifter locking. Only problem with this is if you accidentally shift it into R while driving, other than that, its fine. It'll lock normally in P, but you just need to press on the brakes to release it to shift down from P.

Thanks a lot for replying here and in PM. As I mentioned in the PM, I followed the new Pin out changes for the work around that is posted up on this and it did not fix the problem. I still cannot get the shift lock to automatically release when I press on the brake. I am not willing to risk accidentally shifting into R from D when driving, especially with the amount of Boost, HP and TQ I will be laying down with my car.

Anybody else can chime in on this via PM, or a separate thread, I appreciate it. I don't want to hijack this mans thread.

I need to update my pics... The climate is no longer spotty. One of these days I'll clean the car and take better pics.
