Default Brake lights wont work....need help

After spending a good amount of time trying to search here if anyone had the same problem. i ended up finding nothing. basically my brake lights dont work. everything else works though. if i turn on my lights my tail lights everything works fine(including the dual filament bulbs for my brake lights). however when i step on the brake the 2nd filament doesn't light up. i have checked the bulbs and they all work fine. also checked fuses in engine bay. havent checked fuses in the drivers side kick panel though. any suggestions on what the problem might be?

sounds like the brake switch might be bad. if you get down on the floor, you should be able to hear a 'click' when you press/release the brake.
find the switch, and see if it's good.

Get a meter on the wires right at the brake light and have someone step on the brakes. test for voltage and test for cont. to groun. you could have a wire grounding out as well.

look under the dash, on the driver's side. there will be a pannel that needs to be removed.
after that, you can follow the brake lever up, you will see the cylinder/switch.

move the drivers seat back and get your whole head and body in the floor footwell. look towrds the inside of the drivers front fender and you should see a black rectangular box, remove the cover and look on the inside of it for reference to the stop light fuse

Yeaup, just stick your head close to the pedals and look left its a little box. a light will help a lot too.
