Default Removing center out of a 99 steering wheel

I have too be missing something....

I have a 99, that has the 3 spoke wheel. Ive taken the 3 screws out of the back cover, popped off the side cover and unscrewed the torx screws that were sitting in there and the center of the steering wheel still will not come out. All I want, is too remove the cruise control arm.

What am I not doing right? Ive did some searching, but all I find are 4 spoke removal threads.

TIA

you're going to need a steering wheel puller.. one of the easiest ways to get the steering wheel out

when i took out mine, i believe I may have taken out the torx screws completely so there was nothing in the way for the airbag to come out. gl

on the left where the screw is, use a flat screw driver in between the airbag and the steerting wheel and pry that portion of the wheel to the side a bit and pull the bag with your other hand. I swaped mine on monday and it was pissing me off, I know how you feel.
