Rubber Door Harness Cover Removal?
#1
![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I need to access the wire harness between my door and chassis because I have a shorted wire in there somewhere. I do not want to cut the rubber to fix the wire so I need to take this rubber insulator off.
Have any of you taken this rubber piece off without cutting any wires? Is there a way to unplug the harness inside the cabin or door to make removal easy?
Here is a picture I found for reference.

Just pull the carpet under the dash back. u will see the wire connected on the side closest to the door. if i remember right after u unplug them u will need to push it through the body of the car. its a big pain. but can be done.the boot itself just pushes out its a very small lip that holds it on. u can squeez it and see how it comes apart. hopefully this help u. good luck on ur issue.

As indicated above, this is on a connector that plugs into the kick panel behind or under the fuse box (been like 5 years since I looked). There is a cluster junction there and on the other side and several large square plugs with many connectors meet at the kicks on either side.
The white blocks in the upper center of this pic are the junctions. I have the entire body harness I pulled from a parts car.![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I'll go look and see if i can get a closer pic of the harness which is in the attic.

Here's a pic of one of the junctions in the kick panel.
You think the FSM's are handy to have.... try having a full body harness complete down to the screws and not one single cut connector
(AND the FSM's
)
