Default V8 Emblem for the SC

Heres a few pics of my car... I recomend any SC400 owner to put a Tundra/landcruiser/sequia V8 on the right side of the trunk lid. Kinda looks awkward without it actually...

And heres a pic of the woodgrain dash kit I put on a few months ago. Im not sure if they still make this particular type anymore, This was a huge kit, it covers almost all interior plastics, the other kits dont match as well and only cover the radio and climate control panels.

Not pictured: The almighty hardwired Valentine 1

Dash kit looks good. Where did you buy it?
Do you have the part # on that emblem?

I hardwired my V1 remote audio adapter in the ashtray with the
radar unit suction cupped to the winshield. Where did you mount
yours?

Default nice dash work

I just ordered a wood dash kit for my SC300. Yours looks great. How involved a job is it. Anything I need to be aware of , short cuts, problems etc..
Thanks.

The dash kit I got from a seller on ebay who has his own company and makes them himself. It fit about 99% perfect, and matches the factory wood very well... But for some reason I wasnt able to find any of his kits on ebay right now. The "V8" can be bought from the seller "AUTOGOLD@aol.com", this seller deals only with brand new emblems, exhaust tips, and so on. Make not to them that you do not want the "I-force V8" emblem, just the "V8"

The woodgrain kit is a 2-3 hour project, and needs to be taken VERY seriously. DO NOT rush. Take as much time, even 5-10 minutes for a single piece, and make sure it lays properly before you put it down. Once its applied, its pretty much there permanently. I took my time and I did an excellent job.

The most difficult piece is the one that goes over the shift plate with the "PRNDL" make sure the clear holes in the wood piece line up perfectly with the responder lights for the appropriate gears!

My valentine one was hardwired by a car audio shop. They used the 7 foot cord that came with the detector, and the vampire tap, and the wiring harness, so I didnt have to pay for any parts. Originally I was going to have them run it off the sunroof power circuit, it would have been the most direct, but the tech said its to risky and sunroofs cost $$$ to fix... so he just ran it off the ignition accesory and ran it up the left roof pillar, accross the headliner and down near my rear view mirror where the V1 is mounted.

V1s come with all the equipment to hardwire them unlike other detectors. Hardwiring looks much better, and it a must with our cars because the cigarette lighter access plate is a beautiful piece of woodgrain that needs to be left closed. The V1 is a premium if not the best quality detector and thats why the cigarette-lighter job is only meant to be temporary.

IMO, the V8 emblem is just not my cup of tea...It just doesn't look right to me...I would rather have the whole trunk shaved because I personally prefer the clean look...But thats just me...

I have considered getting the dash kit also, but they don't match with the factory wood...I hate it when my car has 20 different colors...The dash kit doesn't compliment the interior... Just my opinion... But hey if you think it looks good then go for it!

I don't like the V-8 but only because it's too large. Doesn't blend well with the Lexus. Where can we find smaller letters?

I love the dash though. Can you provide me with the name of that craftsman and a way to contact him?

Thanks,
George

You should put the V8 emblem in the same place Mercedes puts their V12 emblem on the S600.

The V-8 is not a bad idea. However I do agree that it would look better if it were smaller to match the rest of the lettering on the trunk lid.

I also have a V 1 hardwired. One of the best investments I have made.

You said the dash kit matches the stock wood very well? From looking at the pic, to me it looks nothing like the stock wood.
