Manual transmission swap

Manual transmission swap
Just curious, has anyone done this before?
There's a post here that I caught (http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=281470) that suggests this has been attempted.
I totally agree with the original poster in this thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...-sc-430-a.html), but I have been a die-hard stick-shifter for every car I've owned. If you guys think this swap is possible or have some examples, I might look into this as a project down the road...
Cheers

You can buy a kit here http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/Gearbox...rsions-325.asp
But not heard of anyone doing a conversion on an SC430

There's also these guys:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/clu...400-430-a.html
but that is a disappointingly low level of enthusiasm. Maybe I'll check back in a few years when the 02's have depreciated enough for people to seriously toy with them before I take such a plunge...
This thread (http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=281470) seems to hint that someone from ClubLexus has had it done on their SC430 however?

Bump, 2023, Lol. Looks like some people have recently done it on the LS430's so definitely technically doable on the SC430. Have to pay to get the parts to do it tho. Maybe one day I'll pony up!

The real question is what is the total length and width of the transmission after its mated to the engine. Different length could mean a new driveshaft, trans mounts etc.. Plus I believe the LS430 engine is mounted differently with the oil pan being different etc.

I have been scouring the internet just to catch a glimpse of one but I haven't come up with one yet. With the level of modding I've seen in Russia & Japan for this car, I won't be surprised if someone has done it over there already and I just haven't found the ig post yet, lol.
The 3UZ adapter for the Nissan CD009 is readily available now and that's a great transmission that can hold a ton of power and has nice, sporty gearing. (370z/G37 6MT)

Also, the Quantum Auto ECU retune can be configured for a manual swap.
Paul makes a great point above, I would imagine you would need a new/custom driveshaft but that's probably a good question for XAT.
The other question in my head is how do you make the center console look presentable once the new shifter is in. I don't know if it would line up with where the automatic shifter is exactly, since that is offset to the left. I would love to see one finished to see how they navigated all these challenges.
