Talking ECRU Floor Mats Cleanup

Not sure if this has been covered but Oxyclean does and amazing job on our '02 SC Ecru floor mats.

Take three scoops of Oxyclean and add 1 Qt water or so. Mix thoroughly until the Oxylcean is dissolved. Apply to the mats using a stiff scrub brush and repeat until all of the mixture has been put on the mats and the stained areas scrubbed. Wait 15-30 minutes. Hose off. Done!

Been using this method for the past few times I cleaned the mats and they look better than ever. Heel mark under the gas pedal is almost gone.

My son has an ES 330 with the very light tan (maybe ECRU) floor mats and interior and he has been amazed as well.

Good Luck!

I've been using Folex and it works great too. You can get it at any Home Depot/Lowes store. I think about $6 for a spray bottle. Best part is you can use it inside the house too on carpets and such:

I just bought black mats 'cause the ecru mats always looked so filthy a day or two after cleaning.

X2. The only way to go. I have a brand new set of ecru that I will probably never use because they are labor intensive. Black looks great and matches other parts of the interior. Rarely need cleaning. When I first got my sc I replaced the mats with new ecru and within 2 months they looked like the old mats-no thanks!

I have the camel mats and even they are hard to keep clean. I see on Sewell's site that they list a black and a black with saddle. What color is the logo on the black? It is hard to see. It appears the black with saddle would match my interior best since I have saddle interior.

+3. I got tired of cleaning the Ecru mats and bought black ones from Sewell.

Yep-got both! The top one is saddle. I also have a new Ecru. I am going to have my SC a long, long time and the mats will always look good! lol Here's the difference...

I avoided the saddle color on the logo for the same reason I got black mats - it's gonna get dirty and look bad. The black mats with dark grey logo look great in my 2008 Pebble Beach.

The logo area does not get dirty on mine so the saddle logo would match my interior.

Can't do the black mats. Doesn't work for me. Guess I'll scrub away every once in a while!

Huy33,
Agreed! I have used Folex in the house on carpet and furniture. It is awesome as well. Will remove red wine stains. Does not fade the color of neutral carpet or furniture. Best spot remover I've found.

My detailer turned mine over to the black side. Does the same thing as buying black ones, but you have the option of turning them back to ecru.
