Default FS: Apex'i filter with adapter for SC300

There was a comparison done on air filters a while back and this filter came out on top...above K&N, Blitz, etc. That's why I decided on getting this air filter for my car, but Apexi doesn't make an application for the SC300, so I had to get a custom adapter made by a friend who works at a very reputable shop. This filter alone is $89. The custom adapter fabrication would cost a lot extra, depending on where you go. If I remember correctly, it took about 3 hours to make!

Here is more info on the filter:
http://www.apexi-usa.com/intake_powerintake.asp

Here are links with info on the comparison.
http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/fi...st/1/index.html
http://mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/index.html

This filter is a dry filter, so you never need to oil it or clean it. It's not very loud, but if you listen to the intake, it sounds like a vacuum.

I would like $70 shipped for the filter with the adapter. Local pickup welcome. I'm in the LA/SGV area. Email me at mr_h_liang@hotmail.com if interested

This is a quote from the Apex'i website: "The Power Intake is a maintenance-free dry-type air filter and will alleviate the problem of filter oil from "wet" air cleaners interfering with the air-flow meter." I've used it for about 2 years. The reason I had a custom adapter made for this Apex'i filter is because this filter bolts on differently than K&N and other types of filters. So you will not be able to interchange it with a K&N. The adapter is made specifically for this filter.

If you do want to clean it, I'm not sure how to do so because it's supposed to be maintenance free. I guess you can shake the dirt off or maybe vacuum it a little bit. But it's worked well for me so far.

ummagawd, i actually spotted your car while i was driving by the 60...it was parked in the far corner, near the fwy, right? i saw your shiny *** wheels. i was in a rental at the time. i rarely go to that la fitness though.

thanks for the nice words, rscott

sorry guys, the intake has been claimed. it's a good intake, especially since there is no maintenance involved...cuts costs a little bit. when i was looking for an adapter for this thing, i read somewhere that the mkiii apexi intake kit might fit our cars. maybe someone can try this.

One of my friends fabricated it for me. It was custom made. The Apexi filter will not fit any of the other adapters out there on the market. The Apexi filter has a strange bolt pattern. But like I said, maybe someone can try out the mkiii supra kit.

i used the mkiii turbo adapter in my NA supra. Since the MAF is the same, it will bolt up using the mkiii adapter

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but where can you purchase an MKIII turbo adapter? Besides waiting for a deal on supra forums to appear.
