I have an issue with my power steering as well but can't tell if it's the pump, the hose, or the reservoir??? How did you figure out it was the hose? Or are you replacing everything?

i just got one for mine from the dealer, and it cost me about $65.00 and that was with a discount. i think it was about $140 or so at regular price.

$140 for a frickin' hose?????

Is this a hose I can possibly get made by one of those "we make any hose you need" type of places? What's so special about this hose that justifies that ridiculous price...wait a minute, I forget we're discussing the dealer

I had to buy one new for myself, and let me tell you... used ain't worth having. they soften up like any other hose does. Would you use a radiator hose with 150k on it as a permanent replacement for your engine radiator hose that broke?

Mike this hose is triple wound EXTREMELY high pressure hose. woven like nothing else inside, very durable, and very strong. That's why used won't work, the system is under MADD stress.

i was actually quoted $450 for this otherwise i would of got it from the dealer. but i suppose i should try a different one and see. $65 dollars for a power steering hose from lexus does not sound right a honda one goes for a bit more than that. $450 does sound like something lexus would charge for one though but no way im paying anywhere near that amount.

depends on which one you are talking about. is it the 6 inch one that bends slightly and comes off the resivoir?

its the longer high preassure hose that bolts in. 65 sounds about right for the small 6 inch hose but no way near correct for the high pressure hose from lexus.

I was priced 285 for the largest one. Even though it is a lot of $$ you still can't get around the "soft hose" factor of a hose with 125k+ on it.

I'd rather spend 100 or less now on a used hose than 300+ on a new one if most likely they will both perform the same and the used one will probably last me for many yrs to come. theres lots of cl members with thier original hose with over 200k on it. So im sure a used one will due. when it comes to optional stuff like power steering I tend to go cheap. But if it was more engine related then i'd settle for only the best.
