Hi,

If you dont solve your problem, I think i have a whole locking mechanism lying around will give it to you for a good price, but I had exactly the same problem, but teh body shop guy simply welded it in teh other circular piece, it works fine.

My door lock soleniod broke.. so im looking for a new assembly also... when I get one, I have whole assembly of spare parts... the rod you needed included... not broken... drivers side

I will let you know when i get my hands on one, ill just send you the whole assembly for free, you can scrap it up and try to change everything over. Just pay for shipping...

As for taking the DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY out.. it is a lil tricky... there is a screw for the window track on the lower left corner of the door. Take that out and it would give a lil more room to squeez out the whole assembly... just becarful of the rods, they tend to get in the way. You will have to push the window track to one side...

Hope that helps you a little bit.
