Since someone wants the HU, if you are seperating, I'd be interested in the CD Changer as long as it works properly. Let me know? Thanks.

I see these for sale pretty often, and I'm curious, are these a plug and play replacement for the stock pioneer systems?

Thumbs up

Almost plug and play. Radio connector is identical. Amp needs the bass amp plug re-located to the NAK amp (single amp as comparred to the two piece pioneer). You also need to add a heaver gauge wire for the NAK, as the Pioneer wiring does not supply enough current. The plugs, however, are identical.

The CD player is not Pionner or Nak, it is Matsu****a, better known in the US as Pnasonic.

Hope it helps... I had retrofitted my system years ago and still works great!

How much? Is the whole unit working properly? Why would you scrap it?

Not to hi-jack this thread (I figure this will help anyone interested in this unit anyway), but did you notice a big difference in sound? Did you swap out the speakers too? Which wire did you have to increase? Did you pull out the old wire and run a new one, or just run a new one and power it (whatever needs the heavier guage) off both wires in parallel to split the amperage?

Thanks for any and all help, I'm interested in doing the swap if it's worth it.

1. Not a BIG difference, but I did notice more top end of the Pioneer.

2. Yes, I used ADS in the front, and Dynaudio in the rear. I also used the Nak. 10" subwoofer. The pioneer cannot take the top end. I tried a JL and found it to be a waste of time... you need to construct a mount to fix it correctly, but I went back to the Nak. 10".

3. I ran a new wire directly from the battery to the B+ input which is always hot. I used simple twin lamp cord which works well and is cheap..

Almost three years now, and no problems. I also run a Siruis which is mounted in the cup holder.... Satellite is the way to go.

Your welcome,
928
