XS Engineering ignitiion Power Pack II (aka New Volt)
selling a almost new B&M New Volt
Also sold by XS Engineering as the Ignitiion Power Pack II
http://www.xs-engineering.com/compan...torenews&id=26
http://www.hopupracing.com/xsenpopaigam.html
retails for over $300
this one is anodized blue, not the regular flat black aluminum housing as the XS one (B&M is the original maker, XS just rebabged it as their own)
Excellant alternative to the HKS Twin Spark
From the XS website
"High revving, high-compression and turbocharged engines all require a great deal of spark energy from the ignition system to run properly. The higher the boost, the more spark energy required to fire the spark plugs to complete combustion. The XS Engineering Power Pack is an ideal upgrade for anyone who wants a compact and cost-effective way to maximize the performance of their vehicle’s ignition system.
The unit installs inline with the positive side of the coil(s) and “boosts” the input voltage all the way to 20 volts! This translates in to increased spark energy regardless if it’s mated to a stock or aftermarket inductive ignition system. Also, the need for and expense of multiple ignition boxes in multi-coil applications is eliminated as Power Packs are designed to work with single or multiple coils. With its state-of-the-art internal power regulation, the Power Pack’s output remains at or near 20 volts and up to 20 amps even when the input voltage dips below 12 volts – making it ideal for even racing applications where no alternator is used. Another one of the Power Pack’s key advantages is its size. Measuring only 5.25” x 3” x 1.5”, the compact Power Packs are a breeze to install even in the tightly packed engine bays of today’s cars. Furthermore, all Power Packs are fully epoxy encapsulated to survive the toughest racing environments."
$180 shipped (in lower 48 states)
it's also on Motorex's 10sec skyline!

I already have one in my car,
the one I am selling is a spare I was saving.
I got it off a friend that's converting to coil packs (though this unit will also work with coil packs as well as distributor ignitions) He originally bought it after seeing mine. lol
I also have the install instructions in pdf

works for both coil and distributor iginitions, by inscreasing and stablizing the power source for each, it's the same as the HKS Twin Spark ignition amplifier
here's the instructions on pdf from XS engineering

So this just amplifies the spark but dose not replace the distributor.. I wonder what the effect of this would be if I go with the Nology Hot wires which is also said to increase spark with the used of capacitors in each wire...

I mean the wires (even with capcitors) alone can't help increase spark
cause the line voltage/amerpage is stock, there is olny so much voltage to go around. I never believed the nology claim, cause how do the capacitor get to charge up to any noticable level (if your running at high rpm) and all spark plugs are firing rapidly one after the other, there is no down time to charge any of them up......
have you ever waited for a capcitor in the flash on camera to charge up?
I've seen them in magazine artilces, but htey were always used in conjuction with the nology "power core ignition amp" and/or "profire" system
