Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the #6 runner shorter than the #1 runner? If so, why was it done like that?

I'm guessing because air will reach #6 runner after it reaches #1 runner. So now air has a chance to catch up in the #6 runner and arrive the head at the same time it does in #1
