FS: SC300 Headers
I bought this header from a member on CL they are made by Autobahn88. When I installed it on my 97 SC300 I punctured a hole in the side of it due to an over sight on my part. I didnt realize that different year SC's had different motor mount heat shields, some have longer bolts than others. So when I was installing the header the bolt on the heatshield was pushing against the piping and I forced it down rather hard puncturing a dime sized hole in the side of it. Needless to say I was extremely annoyed at that point and took it off and have not looked at it since. So I personally have not put a single mile on this header.
I did have the hole professionally welded but I have decided not to install it.
I took a bunch of pictures of the welds so everyone can see that they are sealed without leaks. Also there is a before and after shot of the hole.
This Header is designed for flange o2 Sensors so I had adapters made so I could use the screw type of o2 sensor, those will be included and if you have the flange type of sensors all you have to do is take the adapters off
.
I dont want anyone to make the same mistake I did, please see the pictures below and it will show you the bolt that needs to be cut or ground down. I replaced the stripped o2 bolts and nuts.
These are for the 2JZGE engine and will work with most SC300's . As you read above you may have to modify the heat shield depending on your year and mount style.
Price is $230 SHIPPED including paypal fees Or Best Offer TODAY ONLY JULY 4TH . Also I'm in need of quite a few SC300 parts such as low mileage PS Pump, GE Head, and ,many other items that I cant think of at the moment due to lack of sleep lol.
Just an FYI for those of you who are interested in purchasing a header. If you who do not have an aftermarket intake you will have to either wrap the header or the intake piping with heat wrap or you will end up melting the plastic.
Ok the bolt with the black circle will either need to be removed, cut, or ground down so it does not puncture another hole. I'm not sure what years use these plates, but this car is a 97.
Here is a picture of the hole:
And here is the same hole professionally fixed:
Now the next pictures I various shots of the welds
Here is some more info:

That I do not know, I know the member who sold these to me did not have any issues with the CEL, but he did have OBD1 (92 SC). When I had them on my car for the VERY short time of 30 minutes lol I too did not get a CEL and that was in a 97 SC. I would ASSUME you could fail the visual inspection seeing how you are removing the first CAT. Now I'm not sure what the laws are in your area, they may not do visual. These are so easy to install what I was going to do is when inspection time came around put my OEM manifold back on.
I mean it took me under and hour to remove the old manifold and install the new one lol.
