CHeck your o2s. If it has 4 wires, then it's a cali spec motor.
negative... if you have a sub O2 sensor on your second cat you have a cali spec motor... non cali cars have two O2 sensors on the exhaust manifold... cali spec has the two on the manifold plus the the third on the second cat
So the op's ecu will throw a code on a non cali spec motor? damn cant find a ecu for my car anywhere..
yeah... i have a non-cali SC and the previous owner had the ECU replaced with a cali one... my check engine light is on and its a code 27... im a technician so i check it out in our database at work and code 27 is sub O2 sensor and in parenthesis next to that said (california only)... i even put my car up on the life to make sure about the sub and there isnt one... plus i called lexus and had the VIN doubled checked as well
