I have this main cat(next to transmission) with full length of piping, shielding and flanges uncut left over from trying to pass emissions. When I first failed emissions I had both catalytic converters replaced with magnaflow universals and still failed emission. I can't say this is a good cat but replacing it sure didn't enable me to pass because of other problems(o2 sensors were my problem as seen in my emissions threads). If anyone is looking to gut it or replace a destroyed one for cheap, may very well pass emissions too. It has minor surface rust no dents or leaks when I was running it. I would rather someone get use out of it rather than scrapping it.
