WTB: 93 sc300 ECU (Automatic)
Hey guys,
I've read a few threads on here and it seems like my ecu may be damaged (white smoke on cold start up / smells like gas). I'm not sure if the ECU is replaceable through different years but I will take it if it works.
Please let me know if you have one for sale and what your asking price is. It will be going to 98354 business.
Thanks all,
-Cedric

Sounds like the check valve on the PS pump pushing fluid back into the intake. Watch your PS Pump fluid levels to determine if it is feeding back into the intake and disappearing... also watch the fluid for aeration. I have an ECU from a 93 auto, but I just don't feel right selling it to you based on that description. I hardly think you need it if it is running well otherwise.

Thanks for the heads up O.L.T., I'll definitely check that out tomorrow.
It is running pretty well besides that, I just noticed at cold start up it had a slight blue tint for a few seconds (I'm assuming valve stems need to be replaced) followed by that white smoke which smells like gas for like 30 seconds. All the symptoms pretty much stop once the car is at normal running temperature. Maybe slight smoke afterwards but that's to be expected when its cold.
I'll try what you suggested and maybe I'll make a thread in the sc300 general section and try to get more opinions before I start buying stuff.
Thanks again.

May not be your issue, but just incase:

So does this sound about right: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/4431877-post69.html
Look at this post for the vac hoses to plug and see if it makes your smoke go away: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/2444289-post45.html

i just did this fix on my car. a few months ago i had the startup problem with white smoke. so i pulled the vac hoses from the intake. no more smokey startups. since then i had a bit of a leak on the power steering pump side, so i figured id have the pump rebuilt and check out my high pressure line.
i had a new line made for me when i bought the car so the line was still great, no leaks whatsoever.
the leak ended up coming from the idle up valve, so i pulled the valve and sealed it off. so far so good. lets see how it looks in a month.
so to any of you guys out there with this problem. this is the thread to check out.
