Want To Borrow! - 95 SC400 ECU
Please don't laugh!!!
I'm looking to borrow a good working 95 SC400 ECU. Anyone wanna help an SC bro out? If local I can pick up, give cash and return it same day no problem.(Zip code 11953).
Trying to get a good ECU to eliminate one of two possible scenarios as to why my project car isn't starting. If not local, I can give a deposit via paypal, pay shipping of course, and ship it back to you very fast with extra cash for your trouble.
I don't want to buy parts unless i'm 100% certain it will fix the issue. Being that any ECU I buy is 20 years old, and getting a rebuild is over $100+ I really rather borrow a good one opposed to buying one as if I get your working ECU and the car works I can send mine to get rebuilt and be done with it. I've seen people buy 2-3 from junkyards with no luck, and have to get a rebuild anyway. Inspected my ECU and no signs of serious leaking, but my eyes might have missed something. Again local preferred, but if not I'm willing to figure this out!

^ They're different part numbers, with the '95s being a '94-95 series from 2/94 onward, as I recall. But, no one seems to have confirmed whether or not there are any meaningful changes across the OBDI line.
I have a '95 SC400 ECU in the garage, but we're on opposite coasts from each other... One of these days, I'll pop it in my 11/93 build date car to see if it runs and if there are any oddities.

Yea StudioGeek from what I saw the 94-95 are different from the rest. Such a pain in the *** having an OBD1 and OBD2 I thought more stuff would be backwards compatible and I could easily eliminate the problem swapping parts. Local junkyards asking $175 with no return/exchange/refund policy is kinda douchey. It's either the ECU or the Timing Belt slipped a tooth. I would love for it to be the ECU

In theory a 92 ECU should fire a 95 car. The 96-97 ECUs are OBDII, and the 98+ are OBDII VVTi
92-95 ran essentially the same system. In 96 they switched to sequential fuel injection. My guess on the differing part numbers would be more than likely they refined the motor and trans programs.
Below is a cross reference on the 92 part number. Pay no mind to the Canada listing. My 96 had a Canadian chassis code, even though it is an American car.
