Sigh, I should know better.
So, a couple of weeks ago, Scarlett is desperately in need of a wash. My wife and I were headed to Floor and Decor in Alexandria.
A quick check on Google Map's indicates a "Mr. Car Wash" on the way.
So, without checking we head there. Of course it's pollen season and the line is out in the street.
So we get in line. Doesn't say anywhere visible to the street that a wash is $30. After waiting 20 minutes in line I see the price and then get the arm twist routine to sign up for the monthly plan at $29.99 a month, with the 2nd month allegedly being $0.01.
I reluctantly agree and then a receipt tape about 20 inches long is shoved in my face which seems to disagree with what I was told. Lots of weasel words about promotion and such with a real price of $39.95/month way down at the bottom of the tape. What I didn't know is Mr. Car Wash is a national chain. I abhor chains of any sort. Again, should have known better.
Leaving the wash, the car is a lot of things, clean is not one of them. Wheels still dirty, debris still on the car and water spots galore.
Took the car through a different location last week much the same, with one major addition.
The friggen thing has pulled the little plastic cover of the rear of the door handle off and it's nowhere to be seen.
The thing is $40 plus shipping to replace.... Lexus 69250-50021-D4 Cover Assy, Door Outside Handle
I need to e-mail them to make certain it's the right color before pulling the trigger.
Note to sell, wash the car yourself, you lazy bastage!

I gave up on car washes once and for all many years back when I drove our (then ) black family SUV into the wash and they brushed the sides with a long broom like brush with hard bristles. Caused lots of small scratches in the clear coat and I had a ton of work to do after that buffing out scratches. So I paid these guys to create work for me ? Never again. I hand wash all our cars on my own now and save the $$.

And the hits just keep on coming! Are we seeing a trend here when you have 2 ah s@#T's in the top 20 threads on the site? You may want to continue to work it does not appear that the retirement gig is going to treat you well?

The autocarwash where I live tell you not to take an old vehicle through it.
I took mine through once, and then swore never again. It sounds like you bought a plan, maybe you can cancel it.

Yeah, have no fear I'm going to cancel it. I'm sure they will make it as hard as possible.
