Actually, it’s not that complicated but rather simple. In 2016, I bought a 1.4 TechStream Cable with Ver 10 software, installed to my old XP HP laptop, ran into little problem but it’s easily resolved. Gave the cable and computer to my buddy, bought Ver 2.0 with ver13 software, installed to my Win 10 Toshiba laptop. Ran into connection problem. Talked to the seller for help, he fixed it in 5 minutes via TeamViewer. I believe with your knowledge, you will be fine. Try it.

So, working on this, have an older Lenova laptop we havent used in a long time, could not come up with the proper password and wasted over an hour yesterday to gain access to our own computer with no avail, gave up and will try a newer dell laptop we have. Grrrrr
Sitting in Dealership right now to get my key fixed!! Grrr again!
Need to figure out which cable to order…

I work on computers all the time. It is very easy to put a 32 bit operating system on your old computer and have it ready for Techstream. If you can't find someone to do it for you send it to me and it will only take an hour to put the operating system on it.

That may or may not work. The operating system is still probably 64 bit and it will not work with the drivers from the cable. He will have to go through the process of editing the registry.

Seriously, send me the Lenovo and I will put W10 32 bit on it and it will work fine with Techstream. It apparently is of no value to you at this point.

You don't understand. I don't need the password. I will boot to a USB drive to install the OS. It will be a completely clean install.

No that is incorrect. Unless you have password protected the computer from the BIOS which would be very unusual, I can just boot to a USB drive and go from there. I have done it many times. (like over 100)

So I have sent my old Lenova laptop to iolmaster above to work on it. Its a older smaller lap top and will most likely just use it for this purpose and keep it in the shop. Now I need to order the correct cable. And seems like from here I only need the cable and download the software offline somewhere, yes?

Take a look at the listings again, It appears they send you a preconfigured computer with techstream working and cable included

That's little pricey.
