What kinda head unit is that? Looks like the nav door was removed?

It is a Chinese android head unit. Yes, I removed the navigation door completely as it was pretty much pointless to have it and installation was easier without.

I love the wireless CarPlay. SO much more usable than the native navigation and phone interface. Plus I have full engine diagnostics via Torque app. I would rank the head unit change right up there with my upgraded suspension and rearview camera system as huge improvements to the SC430

Seattle, can you elaborate on your upgraded suspension build? Looking around for options as the stock suspension does not exactly curtsy across the pavement.

The suspension rebuild (new sway bars, coilovers, entire front suspension, tie bars, steering rack bushings utterly transformed the SC430. It is a joy to drive and corners like crazy now. Acts like a proper GT - firm, but not too firm. I find myself smiling every time I hit a curve and she goes round it nimbly. Never going to be glassy smooth like a huge luxe cruiser, but she drives way better than when I got her new.

Probably in more detail than you need unless actually doing the work....

I think a good teaching thread, but lost to time and obscurity.

perhaps lost, but not forgotten. i've got it bookmarked as i do many of your threads.

clever how you superimposed a blowup of your odometer onto your steering wheel.

congrats on your upcoming milestone. i'm sure there's many more miles to go.

By miracle, it was at 250000 when I pulled into garage. Pict was taken after backing out for better lighting.
The attached video shows the happy event happening. That happened just a couple yards into neighborhood. So, I could get video going really slow

I had noticed that the transmission was in reverse. How long until 300k ? Well, obviously 50k, but how many years.
I love your AV solution. Its like a beauty treatment that takes 20 years off your age.....

I didn't anticipate my mileage below until it was there. If I had, I would have adjusted the clock and the zeroed the trip odometer at 333000. The outside temp had been 33 until just before the photo. It then would have been all 3's.

Sold it with 356k. Still running, but needed a valve job. The guides needed to be replaced. The intake valves would hang open for the first 10 miles. After that, you could drive it all day.

Seattle, Congrats on your milestone! Too, I loved your interior shot. The birds-eye maple is my favorite wood color! Love your CarPlay solution too.
