Default Will 2007+ TPMS sensor fit in 2005 ?

I have a 2005 SC430, I want to replace the TPMS sensors on my car. I found there were lots of after market sensor just for the 2007 and up. The OEM sensor for my car are just tooooo expensive. Was there anyone ever tried to put those on the early years SC ? Will it work ? Please give me some ideas.
Thank you.

I do not believe so. The 02 thru 06 are a color coded TPMS which the 07 thru 10 are not. I may be wrong but I don't believe they are interchangeable.

Best thing I ever did was just disable them completely. There is information here on how to.

Yeah, I understand it's the fastest way. If I can find the easy way and at low cost , I am still happy to see that feature on the car. 😁

They will not work. Two different systems.

Just as everyone mentioned, they are not interchangeable. It's too bad that Lexus saddled their customers with such a costly system. A safety system should be as inexpensive as possible to maintain or people will disable the system. You can check pressures manually, but if you sell the car or pass it along to a loved one, it would be preferable to have a fully functional system. You can replace the sensors one at a time, as they fail. Maybe the most economical method is to replace the sensors at the time of tire replacement if the sensors are close to their likely expiration time or if you have one or more bad sensors. You can purchase the sensors, from online sources, and have your tire shop replace the sensors during tire replacement. Be sure to record sensor IDs, color (if applicable), and which sensor is installed on which wheel. The sensors can then be registered at a Lexus dealership. If you or a friend or your independent shop has the appropriate diagnostic tool (such as a TechStream), you can do the registration yourself at a significant cost saving. You shouldn't have a problem for 5 to 10 years, maybe longer.

If you search various suppliers, such as RockAuto, they show replacement sensors for the Lexus SC430. The costs are less costly than OEM sensors. I don't know if these will “work”. Maybe someone has had experience with these products? They clearly state that registering or what they call relearning is needed.

For 2006-2006 models, these are Standard Motor Products (TPM 62, 61, 64, and 63). Each is color-coded. For 2007-2010, they are TPM82A.

2002-2006 are color coded and different part numbers.
2007-2010 are the same part number.

Best bet is to just disable it. Takes minutes. Then go on Amazon and replace it with a Bluetooth tire pressure sensor. They are very inexpensive and work much better. Good luck!

I have very strong opinions on this from experience in a car with low profile tires that did not have a TPMS. Find the most affordable way to put it back in service. The solution will be different based on your skill/comfort level and tools. A tire shop should be able to swap in a replacement for the price of a tire balance. You can get the sensor for about $90. Get the correct color if you are just replacing a bad one, or get a complete set. This is a Lexus, not a Corolla.

If I expressed how I really feel about disabling the system, I would expect to be censored.....
