Default Glove box light

Looking for some advice regarding the glove box light, which is currently not working. I know it only works when then the lights are on, but even then the light still doesn’t work. I replaced the bulb, still a no go. When I bought the car last month I did find the light dangling out of its opening, but it was still connected to the harness. Any thoughts as to what else could be causing the light failure? The glove box switch seems the most obvious. I don’t want to go looking for trouble for something so minor but I am concerned a small problem might be part of a bigger problem. TIA

here is the wiring diagram. That circuit source powers several items.
I highlighted the glove box with a yellow box.

Check for power coming into the switch, then if good check power coming out with switch plunger extended. If both good check for power at light connection.

I had my glove box out yesterday and noticed an extra wire taped to the top of the glove box. I assume this it he connection for the light, the light assembly was missing. I assuming that it was this way when I bought the car in 2020. It could have been a casualty of the air bag recall work done in late 2020 by Lexus, but I don't think they would have left it if it happened on their watch. More likely it happened during the blower replacement by the previous owner's indy shop. The car was missing 3 under body braces and now one glove box light assembly. Just venting, I hope you get the light fixed.

Thank you for posting the wiring diagram! I measure 1 VDC when I depress the switch. And obviously, no light. Have to go digging for the ground on 1G, or +12VDC on 5A, I guess. What is the symbol between 3E and 3G? Appreciate your help!

its a junction block.
you didn’t say if you have the headlights on when you check the glovebox light/voltage.

OP here. I can’t say I understand the wiring diagram, but I do know how to check the current in front of and behind the switch. My question is what else is on that run that would be affected if it wasn’t the switch?

Yes, they are. There are two posters in this thread. I said in the OP that they were.

NP. Any thoughts on my follow up question of what else is powered on that same circuit?

what if you checked for continuity between ground and the light socket while opening and closing the switch?

check for continuity to make sure the light is good.

check for 12vdc between ground and the other side of the light socket.

I suppose if all that is good there might be an issue with an ECU.
